Alexander Astin’s Theory of Student Involvement: “Students learn more when they are involved in both the curricular and co-curricular aspect of the college experience.” From adventure trips, climbing wall and team challenge courses (aka ropes courses) with a dual zip lines, academic college credit classes, come get involved with Venture and get smart!!
Venture's purpose is to provide a variety of enriching outdoor leadership experiences via Adventure Trips, Low & High Challenge Courses (aka ropes courses), and the Indoor Climbing Wall. Venture also provides programs for non-university groups, including experience based training and development programs (team building programs) for business clientele.
If, after checking the website, you are interested in getting involved with Venture as staff, just email us using our addresses from the contact page or stop by our office in the Cone Building. (Look for Venture's yellow kayak attached to the exterior wall, pointing to our door.)
The weather has finally started to warm up in Charlotte, and at Venture we're looking forward to getting outside and enjoying the sunshine and mild temperatures. A number of our April trips and programs are already close to full, so if you were planning on getting outside with Venture before the end of the semester, be sure to come by our office and sign up soon!
Here's what we have planned:
A Communication Studies class discovers one of UNC Charlotte's best kept secrets. The Venture program was founded in 1974 and has been serving the most adventurous 49ers ever since. Go with us as we follow the student staff to explore the wonders of the Venture program.
